Entry Requirements
To enrol on the NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma for the Early Years Senior Practitioner (610/4163/4), learners must meet the following criteria:
General Requirements:
Aged 19 years or over
A good standard of written and spoken English
Basic literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 or equivalent is recommended) - To count within the ratios at level 3, staff holding an Early Years Educator qualification must also have achieved a suitable level 2 qualification in English.
Individuals working in a managers role should hold a level 2 qualification in Maths.
A genuine interest in working with children in an Early Years setting within a management role
Placement Requirement:
This qualification includes a mandatory minimum of 300 hours in a real work environment. Learners must:
Be currently working in a setting at level 3 or above
Be carrying out a leadership role in order to meet the criteria from this qualification
Additional Requirements:
A valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required to work with children
You must have access to a placement supervisor or mentor who can support and confirm your competence in the workplace
Please Note:
Evidence from your placement will be used to support your assessments, including direct observations, witness testimonies, and reflective practice. Without a placement, you will not be able to meet the full qualification requirements.
