As a qualified Early Years Practitioner, you’ll be able to work in a range of settings, including nurseries, pre-schools, and reception classes, supporting children's learning, development, and well-being.

Entry Requirements
To enrol on the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (603/3723/0), learners must meet the following criteria:
General Requirements:
Aged 16 years or over
A good standard of written and spoken English
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
A genuine interest in working with children in an Early Years setting
Placement Requirement:
This qualification includes a mandatory minimum of 250 hours in a real work environment with children aged 0–5 years. Learners must either:
Be currently working or volunteering in an appropriate Early Years setting, OR
Arrange a suitable placement before starting the course
Additional Requirements:
A valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required to work with children
You must have access to a placement supervisor or mentor who can support and confirm your competence in the workplace
Please Note:
Evidence from your placement will be used to support your assessments, including direct observations, witness testimonies, and reflective practice. Without a placement, you will not be able to meet the full qualification requirements.
