Entry Requirements
To enrol on the Focus Awards Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (601/6105/X), learners must meet the following criteria:
General Requirements:
Aged 16 years or over
A good standard of written and spoken English
Basic literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 or equivalent is recommended)
A genuine interest in working with children and young people in an educational setting
Placement Requirement:
This qualification includes a mandatory minimum of 100 hours in a real work environment with. Learners must either:
Be currently working or volunteering in an appropriate educational setting, OR
Arrange a suitable placement before starting the course
Additional Requirements:
A valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required to work with children
You must have access to a placement supervisor or mentor who can support and confirm your competence in the workplace
Please Note:
Evidence from your placement will be used to support your assessments, including direct observations, witness testimonies, and reflective practice. Without a placement, you will not be able to meet the full qualification requirements.
